PASRR

Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR)

What Is PASRR?

PASRR stands for Preadmission Screening and Resident Review.

It’s a federal and state process that ensures individuals with serious mental illness, intellectual disability, or a related condition are placed in the most appropriate care setting, not automatically in a nursing home.

The goal is to protect each person’s rights and make sure they get the right level of support in the least restrictive environment possible.

Level I Screening

An initial screening to identify whether a person might need a more detailed Level II evaluation under PASRR.

Level II Evaluation

An in-depth assessment of diagnosis, support needs, and appropriate placement for each individual.

Determinations & Notifications

We prepare and deliver official determinations and notifications so facilities stay compliant and individuals get timely decisions.

Reporting & Quality Assurance

Daily and monthly reporting that supports state compliance, transparency, and continuous quality improvement.
